Shibariverse is a self-initiated project in development, taking an editorial position on shibari.

The form has practitioners, lineage and technical rigour, and it has reached galleries and art fairs. What it does not have is criticism. The publishing around it is instructional, the community media is service journalism, and the art press covers it one article at a time with no continuity. Work arrives on walls with nothing written to meet it.

Shibariverse approaches the form through art and human connection, and the role is editorial rather than authorial: selecting, commissioning, contextualising, and building the frame through which the work is read.

Magazine, platform, or art series. The form is not yet fixed, and settling that question is part of the project.
